WARM UP

3 words that best describe me:
1. Sleepy
2. Quiet
3. Happy

5 years ago I was…
Pregnant with my first child and planning out how to have maternity leave when you own your own (very small) company. Turns out, you can’t really have maternity leave when you own your own company and you operate on a skeletal staff. That, among many other things, was the start of leading me to a very different path.

My journey changed when…
I changed business partners for my former company and I started exercising more intensely as a stress release.

The one piece of advice I’d give myself of 2 years ago is…
Don’t get that perm.

In 3 years I’ll probably be…
I have not idea where I’ll be. Just trying to enjoy and process what’s in front of me.

WORKOUT

What do the words ‘wellness’ & ‘balance’ mean to you in terms of your daily life, career and creative process?
Wellness and balance to me mean getting enough sleep and making sure my children know that they are loved and supported.

Describe your favourite part of your daily routine…
Mornings with my husband and our 2 boys. Neither my husband nor I is a morning person, but both of our boys are and their enthusiasm for a new day is infectious. When we’re all four well-rested (fairly rare), laughing and eating breakfast together before the day gets hectic – it’s really unbelievably joyous and lovely.

In parenting (and life), don’t focus on the things you wish your partner would do that s/he doesn’t do. Think about all the things s/he does do that make your life better/easier.

When do you feel most confident?
At home, in my sweats.

Name 3 things that make you happy…
1. Family
2.Friends
3. French fries

Egg Seaweed Wrap Recipe:
It’s so easy! And delicious. My son loves it.

Make a really thin plain omelet with 1 1/2 eggs (so I beat 3 eggs and make 2 omelets) in a medium skillet with a little bit of olive oil to prevent sticking. No seasoning, nothing but egg.

When the egg is halfway cooked (happens very quickly because the omelet is so thin), you add one large piece of roasted, salted seaweed on top of the omelet. Not one of the small snack size seaweed pieces. Something like this: http://www.hmart.com/shopnow/shopnow_newsub.asp?p=8809094845021_set

Immediately start to fold the egg and seaweed into a roll.

Take it off heat and slice into half inch wide pieces. Bonus is once it’s sliced, it’s very pretty because the pieces form an egg/seaweed spiral.

The seaweed is salty, and adds flavor so you really don’t need any seasoning. ———
